November 14th. A story out of Washington reports a recall of about 13,000 batteries used for notebook computers because they can overheat and catch fire. A label on top of the recalled batteries reads “rechargeable battery” and a label on the inside contains 2 sets of members. The first set reads "00". The second set reads either "99" or a number less than "52". Also, the letter "P" is printed at the end of the labels first-line. The recalled batteries were sold individually and with notebook computers from October 99 through October 01 under the following brand names and model numbers arm T.S. 30 W-2 and N38-W2: ChemU-CA Chembook 301 5E; Hyperdate Mediago 2320; Jetta jetbook 9120; MPC Momand 1500; PC Club ENP 325 W- 2; Spectre; Soundx; 6600 and 6900; system AXW-14 and Altra TTX 9200. The government said the consumers should stop using these bad batteries and order a free replacement battery by calling the company toll-free phone 877-475-3425 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time and Gillette Monday through Friday".
